The world – in real time stats.

Clicking on the picture above brings you to this awesome website I found trawling across the net called Worldometers. It’s basically a site that has running real-time stat counters that show the progression of certain world statistics, including points like world population, Google searches per day, abortions this year and even spending on drugs.

To me, while many of them are undoubtedly interesting to look at, the ones that had me entranced were the ones about death. We’ve always been told that at any given moment, there are so many people dying around the world because of one reason or another but it’s only when I stared at the counter continually moving did the fact actually hit home that, as I was looking at the number grow, someone actually died.

Intense.
