If you haven’t watched this, this is one of the most uncomfortable moments in reality TV history, when host of Australia’s Next Top Model cycle 6 Sarah Murdoch pronounced the wrong girl the winner. Cue hysterical cheering and general happiness before she is instructed (via earpiece) to announce the other girl as the winner. Cue awkwardness all around.
Man, it can’t have felt good to be any of the three there at the moment. I mean, for eventual winner Amanda, that kinda took away the whole rush of actually winning the prize, no? So pai seh.
(In the end, though, the company decided to make it up to Kelsey by giving her $250, 000 and an all-expenses paid trip to New York as well as half the spread that winner Amanda was supposed to get in Harper’s Bazaar Australia so who can tell who’s the real winner here?)
