Weekly Wrap-up.

This week, I got quite a bit of work done (ironically, a large chunk of it on the afternoon before leaving for the long weekend), met up with several friends, and blogged a non-weekly-wrap-up for the first time in ages so yay me! I also…

…baked for the first time!

We had a staff bonding afternoon and one of the activities available was baking, something I’ve always wanted to try. Baked this fruit crumble (stuffed with banana, strawberries, and mango, and topped with blueberries) and it turned out pretty decent (especially when refrigerated)!

…got a great deal at Starbucks!

Starbucks Singapore has this new Surprise Bag thing where they pack in three items from past collections. You don’t get to choose what you get (or even see them until you buy it) so it’s basically Starbucks: Booster Pack. Since it was S$29.90 for about S$60 worth of goodies and since I quite liked the bag it came in, I got myself one and it turned out to be a great haul.

I like all the three designs I got (in fact, the red metallic one has been on my radar for ages but just never made it to the top of the list), especially the fact that they’re all in my favourite colour. Most importantly, I don’t already have any of them (in fact, I’ve never even seen that plastic one on shelves before). Yay for random good buys.

…tried the McDonald’s DIY burger!

McDonald’s JEM has this new feature where you can basically create your own burger, choosing the ingredients you want from a long list. I finally got to try it yesterday, creating this concoction containing angus beef, grilled mushrooms, guacamole, rockets, and some garlic aioli.

It was a pretty decent burger but, at S$12 (the basic one starts off at $10+ and my mushrooms and guacamole cost 60c each), it’s not really worth the price. I mean, it does taste better than most of their other offerings and it isn’t as expensive as most other cafes but it’s not that much better than their other burgers to warrant a price tag twice as pricey. I probably won’t try this again so soon.

Dear readers, how was your week?
